Personal Working Time Calendars

The personal calendar is an individual resource calendar where you can set up your working or non-working days, working or non-working hours and holidays. The task schedule depends on resource schedule. A task's schedule will be changed according to the resource's personal working calendar. For example: If a resource has set up his working hours in the personal calendar for four hours a day and a new task of duration 8 hours is assigned to that resource then the task will take two days for completion. As the resource will work for four hours in a day, for a project workplan then the completion date of that project will be modified accordingly.

Steps to setup Work Week Schedule

The user's default work week is displayed under the Work Calendar option under Personal Setup. To change this default setting:

  • Go to the Personal workspace
  • Select the option Setup
  • Select the Work Calendar option under the personal setup section
  • Select the option Define Work Week to define working days and work timings

This situation doesn't work for us. We have resources with 6 and 7 hours per day, and schedule consider ONLY 8 hours per day. We have a suumer calendar working time with 7 hours per day, and the schedule consider 8 hours per day. ¿where is the video?

Puri,
Calculation of duration would depend upon which calender you have set for the workplan. You can check this from Project >> Workplan >> Schedule Properties >> Working Time Calendars. Also it would depend on the calculation type of the task.
Regarding video, we are updating all the video wrt the new version of Project.net. It will be uploaded in the near future.

Naven
